2025 West Volusia Teacher Free Roof Winner
Beery Roofing established the annual “FREE Roof for a Veteran” contest in 2021, and now has expanded to educators! “We have wanted to award a FREE roof to a West Volusia Public School Teacher”, Brenda Beery said. This year they will. The name of the first educator to win a free roof was drawn May 9, 2025, during Teacher Appreciation Week. Jazmyn Robertson is the winner!
2024 West Volusia Veteran Free Roof Winner
Duane North joined the army at 18 years of age. He moved to Pierson from Rockledge, Florida. Before he joined the Army, he graduated from Taylor Middle/High School. Duane was assigned to Ft. Benning for basic training, June of 1994.
2023 West Volusia Veteran Free Roof Winner
For the third year in a row, Beery Roofing & Redesign LLC gave away a free roof to a local veteran. The contest ran Oct 1 – 31. All of the qualified nominees’ names were placed in a Beery Roofing & Redesign hat on Veterans Day. The winner’s name was drawn and announced at Rotaract’s fourth annual Veterans Day Cornhole Tournament. The winner for the 2023 Veterans Day FREE roof contest is U.S. Army veteran Howard Mark.

Beery Roofing & Redesign’s Free Roof Giveaway Contest ran from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31. All of the qualified nominees’ names were placed in a Beery Roofing & Redesign hat on Veterans Day. After Sean Beery tossed the names in the hat, his son Seth Beery drew the winner. The winner for the 2022 Veterans Day Free Roof Contest was Army veteran Spencer Sparks!

We had many worthy nominees for our FREE roof giveaway. However, only one could be the winner. When Major Darwin D. Tennant won, we only knew he had been in the army. When we had the opportunity to surprise him on Christmas Eve, we found out the depth of his dedication to our country.
